What a great tribute to the impact that a teacher can have on one's life. I still think my favorite teacher of all time was my third grade teacher. I am fortunate to live in the town where I grew up and still see many of my old teachers. Thanks for the post.

I believe a lot of people's success today does date back to the help from primary school teachers. They're the ones that gets us started on thinking and how to be creative, which ends up helping out a lot later in life.

@balani: Mr Muyaba taught me at Mzokoto Primary School in Rumphi, Malawi way back in the 1980s. He retired two years after teaching our class and settled at his home village at Kacheche close to Rumphi district headquarters. He passed away towards the end of last decade, if I am not mistaken. I remember the names of most of his children, especially the younger ones, but the name Tobias is not just popping up. Maybe your dad was different Muyaba who coincidentally also happened to be a teacher.
