There’s a lot going on in general with alternate fuels at the moment. I saw on the news that a new hydrogen cell has been developed and it’s efficient enough to power a car. If tech like this exists then surely that’s it for Biomass fuels?

These Two companies, Diversified Energy and Velocys, are working together on a portable system that converts coal, natural gas, and biomass into diesel and jet fuel. The military could use the system to convert waste created at military bases–food scraps, paper, wood–into a fuel for military jets and vehicles.

Wow! This sounds really really cool. I wish I still lived in California so that I could go. I used to live about only a 3 hour drive from San Diego. I hope this event goes well. I think converting waste to fuel is currently much more attractive than converting corn or sugarcane. In the midwest farms have started selling corn for fuel which has increased food prices.
