Any company which creates jobs in Africa is doing great. The only way to improve situation in Africa is by giving local people jobs. I hope more and more companies will do that in future.

I always have mixed feelings about industrialization. I can't help but recall the Thomas Jefferson's ideal of the yeomen farmer. At the same time, it is always good to see the talents of a nation more fully deployed and I certainly can't begrudge the developing world from developing more. Interesting development in Malawi. The arrival of new industry is never a bad thing for developing economies – however, in some regards, an industry tied to a finite resource has its risks. Many areas of the world prosper in the short-term around seemingly large pools of a particular natural resource only to lose that prosperity in the long-run.
