Prof. Narayan, Good to learn about your input into these lectures. I can confirm that many people from all over the world, especially from developing countries, are benefiting greatly from them.

But what we are seeing now is the opposite. India and China are on the rise, and their GDPs are projected to surpass the United States’ GDP within the next few decades.

Yes it is nice to note that People are recognizing the NPTEL. I reviewed one of the lectures in this project. While I attended the meetings of this project The director of IIT Madras explained the need for such a portal. Good faculty for engineering subjects is on the decline. The number of Engineering colleges offering the first degree course in Engineering is increasing in India exponentially.Moreover India is giving back to the whole world what the developed countries like the USA gave to India. I recall in 1968 when I was pursuing by basic degree in Engineering I had the option to borrow some of finest engineering text books through post from American Library in Madras. My place of residence and my college was 350 KM from Madras.

You are now only seeing a speck of Vibrant India.

Nice gesture, I wish there were more people in the world that would also be willing to provide course materials for free. Its nice to see big companies come together for a willing cause. Thanks to Google, YouTube, NTPEL and whoever else helped with this big project… When is it going to be completed?
