Miley, you miss the point completely. Mobile phone games have not been described as the only way to fight against HIV/AIDS. Neither are they the best. The point is that they can be used for the awareness campaign which you have just mentioned.

Mobile phones are the perfect way for donating whatever the cause is. I remember, our mobile operator here had a number where you could send an sms worth around half euro. It was brilliant and very cosy if that is the right word for it, but its true. People would give more often if it would take just few seconds of their time. Every time i would top up my credit, first thing i would do was sending that message. That way i wouldnt need to think later if i sent it or not.

We are now in 2010 and HIV is still a serious disease which kills a lot of people. We have the technology but we don’t use it the right way. Why big flat screen ? why launch spaceship ? Well… So I DO think it’s a great idea to use these new technologies (games, phones…) to fight HIV!

To some of the above posters, yes HIV is still a big problem, even in 1st world countries. However, the fact that the rate of people being infected is going down is very positive sign at the work that has been done worldwide. Superb idea, and what a great use of the gaming platform. I wish there were more initiatives like this around thesedays, especially with the huge amount of money being spent on video games for mobile devices these days.
